Now that we’re nothing to each other…

Now that we’re nothing to each other,
I often think of you

and how the diamonds of your eyes
broke open the night inside me.

Even now,
the flame of your hair singes me
when I see its embers on others,

making me wonder
how much the dust of me
still stirs against your skin.
