NaPoWriMo13: A Simple Hello

These days,
it feels like I’m stranded
in the silence of your eyes.

In my exile,
all this need I feel for you
barricades itself in my throat
until you might want it again.

It feels like I’m drowning
in some unromantic desert,

but there are times
when a simple “Hello” will suffice,

when the mirage of your greeting
could trick me out of this thirst.
